How to Calculate Parking
Parking should be by adding up all parking requirements for each existing and proposed use in a development. Parking requirements can be found in Chapter 17.18 of the Hollister Municipal Code. Parking requirements by use can be found in Section 17.18.060.
Downtown Parking Assessment District
In 1975, the City of Hollister created the Downtown Parking Assessment District No. 75-1, which created a local improvement district and established eight public parking lots in the Downtown core. Below is a map of the properties which are located in Local Improvement District 75-1, which may be subject to a reduction in parking requirements in accordance with Section 17.18.090 of the Hollister Municipal Code.

Seismic Fault Hazard Zone
Some parts of the City are affected by the Calaveras Fault, which may impact any proposed development. To find out if your property is affected by the fault, please visit the California Department of Conservation website, here.
The Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zoning Act (Alquist-Priolo Act) regulates construction within seismic fault zones in order to protect the public and reduce losses as a result of earthquake fault rupture. If your property is affected by the fault, a seismic analysis prepared by a licensed geologist may be required to determine whether the site is cleared for construction.
Flood Hazard Zones
To find out if your property is located in a flood hazard zone, please visit the Federal Emergency Management Agency website, here. The City of Hollister follows current California Building Code regulations for development within the flood zone.

Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (WELO)
The City of Hollister has adopted a water-efficient landscape ordinance, Chapter 15.22 of the Municipal Code. Generally, new construction and rehabilitation landscaping projects with greater than 2,500 square feet of landscape area are subject to the water-efficient landscape ordinance.
