ROPS

The State legislature passed and Governor Brown signed Assembly X1 26 dissolving redevelopment agencies throughout the state of California in 2011. On January 9, 2012, the City Council adopted a resolution electing to have the City of Hollister to serve as the Successor Agency to the dissolved Hollister Redevelopment Agency.

Part of the process of winding down redevelopment agencies affairs pursuant to ABx1 26, is the preparation of the Recognized Obligation Payment Schedule (ROPS) by the Successor Agency. ROPS is a document setting forth the minimum payment amounts and due dates of payments required by enforceable obligations for each six-month fiscal period until the affairs and all obligations of the Hollister Redevelopment Agency have been met. The ROPS is reviewed by the Oversight Board to the Successor Agency to the former Redevelopment Agency and only payments required pursuant to the?ROPS?may be made by the Successor Agency after May 1, 2012. The County Auditor-Controller will allocate property tax increment to Successor Agencies to pay debts listed on the?ROPS. The Successor Agency will post such documents on the Successor Agency website.
