Fire Operations
Operations
All members of the Hollister Fire Department respond to a wide array of medical and fire suppression related calls for service along with motor vehicle accidents and rescues. This group of professional employees consists of a command staff and sworn personnel as follows; Fire Chief, Battalion Chiefs, Captains, Engineers, and Firefighters. In conjunction with the suppression employees, the department utilizes a Fire Prevention Bureau. This Bureau offers a host of programs designed to inform and assist Hollister’s citizens on hazard prevention through education. The department takes pride in all aspects of community assistance for the citizens of Hollister, San Juan Bautista and San Benito County.
Fire Prevention Bureau and Department Programs
Hollister Fire Department prides itself in public outreach and fire prevention education throughout Hollister, San Juan Bautista and San Benito County. The department conducts business inspections and walk throughs to ensure up to date practices to mitigate potential hazards and keep citizens safe. Target areas of concern in the community are identified and inspected by the department so hazards are documented and the fire department response is informed before arriving on scene. Community outreach programs are offered to educate and empower the community in first response. Department led classes teach community members first aid basics and CPR classes.
