The department takes pride in community connection and teaching our youth what it takes to provide public service. From ages 12-19, our Hollister Explorers hone their skills in first response and firefighting operations. Over the course of a few days a month these explorers will engage in training programs such as physical fitness workouts, first aid training, and foreground tactics. They will graduate with a solid understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a professional firefighter and be prepped for a fire service career should they choose to do so.
