Capital Improvement Project, C2503 Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant and Bridge Road Stormwater Improvements Project is a low impact development storm water runoff management project. The project is designed to upgrade existing stormwater infrastructure to include treatment devices, which will remove sediment and trash from stormwater runoff prior to existing outfalls, and a retrofit of the existing Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) to also treat stormwater. This will allow the City to increase infiltration and help increase discharge quality into the San Benito River.

The closure of the trail running along the perimeter of the City’s Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant is required to build a necessary emergency spillway at pond 2. The spillway enables the City of Hollister to properly drain into the regional watershed in the event of an emergency while protecting the natural function of the San Benito River. The City of Hollister is committed to protecting the Pajaro River Watershed by maintaining high water quality, which ultimately benefits our surrounding ecosystems and biodiversity.
